Privacy policy

This describes how we handle information when you use the Mindmizu app or this website—including data kept on your devices, optional Apple features you turn on, and the limited services described below.
1. Who we are
Mindmizu is a focus and rest timer for Apple platforms, developed and published by Collective Creation (the “we” in this policy). The public site and support email are listed on Collective Creation and in the app’s settings.
2. What Mindmizu is (and is not)
Mindmizu helps you run focus and rest sessions, plan tasks, and review your history. It is productivity software, not a medical device and not clinical treatment. Do not use it to diagnose or treat a health condition.
3. Data stored on your devices
The app keeps core information locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac: session history, timer settings, planner and notes, logbook views, and related preferences. This data remains under your control on devices where you use the app unless you choose to enable optional sync or export features the product provides.
4. Apple Health (optional)
If you turn on the Apple Health integration, Mindmizu can write mindful session samples to HealthKit when a focus session completes. We do not read or use your other Health data. You can disable the integration in Settings or in the Health app at any time.
5. Apple Calendar (optional)
If you enable the Calendar integration (a Pro feature), Mindmizu writes a calendar event to your default calendar after each completed focus session. The event includes the session start and end time, your task name, quality rating, and any accomplishments or distractions you recorded in the post-session review. This data goes directly to your on-device Calendar and is not transmitted to us. You can disable the integration in Settings at any time.
6. Sign in with Apple and the leaderboard (optional)
Sign in with Apple is optional. If you choose to sign in, Apple shares a stable anonymized user ID and, if you permit it, your name with the app. We store this information locally on your device to identify your account and, if you opt in, to populate your leaderboard display name.
The optional weekly leaderboard stores your display name, an anonymized user ID, and your aggregated weekly focus minutes and session count in Apple’s CloudKit public database, which is readable by other Mindmizu users. You can opt out of the leaderboard in Settings at any time; opting out stops new entries from being written.
7. iCloud and Apple services
Where the app uses iCloud, CloudKit, or other Apple sync services, data is processed under Apple’s terms and your Apple ID. Only data required for that feature is transmitted, and you can manage iCloud and device backups in your Apple account settings.
8. Screen Time and distraction blocking
On supported platforms, “Distraction Blocker” uses Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time–style selection flows. The system stores an opaque token representing apps and sites you pick — Mindmizu does not receive readable lists of your browsing history or app names from that token. Blocking and authorization follow Apple’s Screen Time permissions model.
9. Analytics and third-party services
We do not sell your personal information. The app is designed so core use requires no Mindmizu account. We currently use the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions and purchase entitlements on Apple platforms. RevenueCat receives purchase history, subscription status, and an anonymous app-user identifier so that Pro access can be verified and restored across your devices. RevenueCat does not receive your name or contact information unless you provide it separately. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- PostHog — provides product analytics for the app and this website.
In the app, PostHog receives behavioral events to help us understand
how the product is used and where to improve it. The categories of
events collected are:
- Onboarding progress — which steps were completed and what preferences you selected (focus length, rest style, pain point, goal).
- Session activity — focus mode, planned and actual duration, a numeric quality rating (0–5 stars), whether you logged accomplishments or distractions (boolean, not the text), and which focus zone you reached.
- Rest activity — break type, earned and actual rest duration, and break quality rating.
- Feature usage — whether you opened the planner, how many items a plan contains by type (to-do, note, heading, bullet), whether you copied session logs, and logbook tab and period selections.
- Distraction blocker — whether the blocker was opened, authorized, or bypassed, and how many apps/categories/sites were selected (count only — the specific apps are never visible to us due to Apple's opaque token design).
- Settings changes — which setting was changed and its new value (for example, changing your focus-to-rest ratio from 5 to 4).
If we add further vendors in the future, we will name them in this section and update the date at the top of this page.
10. This website
The marketing site may log standard server or CDN data (for example IP address, user agent, and rough region) to operate and protect the service. Contact form submissions and email sent to mindmizu@collectivecreation.company are used only to respond to you.
11. International users
If you use the app or site from outside the country where Collective Creation operates, your information may be processed in the United States and other regions where Apple and our infrastructure providers run systems.
12. Your choices
- Access, export, or delete data that lives only on your device by removing the app or using in-app controls, where available.
- Opt out of the leaderboard in Settings — no new entries will be written to the public database.
- Control Health and Calendar integration toggles in Settings, and manage those data stores in the respective Apple apps.
- Control iCloud and device backups in Apple Settings.
- Contact us for privacy questions at mindmizu@collectivecreation.company.
13. Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, or to object to certain processing. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.
14. Changes
We may update this policy when the product, Apple’s platforms, or the law changes. We will post the new date at the top and, for material changes, use reasonable means such as an in-app notice or website update.
